A donation payment form is primarily designed to collect donations from individuals. A profit or non-profit organization can collect these donations for multiple purposes. But you must be thinking, how can a payment form make getting donations quick and easy?

So, do you want to learn more about why you should create a WordPress donation payment form? Check out the points below to find out:

1️⃣ You Get More Contributions

Have you ever tried collecting donations manually? I am sure it didn’t end well. The reason? Many times, people have physical limitations where they might not have enough cash available. Besides, you cannot reach a broader audience manually, as it will take lots of time and effort.

The solution? A donation payment form can definitely save you the day. Whether you want to collect donations for any professional or charity event, a donation payment form can make it easier. With the donation payment form, you can reach to global audience. And there are no limitations. Sounds perfect, right?

2️⃣ Secure Donations

A donation payment form lets you receive secure donations from donors. The problem comes when the donors don’t find a safe way to submit their donations. With the right donation payment form, you get a secure online donation payment gateway that protects your financial information.

3️⃣ Accept Recurring Donations

You might want to collect PayPal or Stripe recurring donations from donors. Without an organized way, you will struggle to collect recurring donations. Wondering the cure? Well, with the right donation payment form plugin, you can create beautiful donation forms that let you set up subscription billing. This means that you can quickly collect recurring donations.

4️⃣ Pay with Preferred Payment Method

Imagine an organization asked you for donations. Now, you don’t have immediate cash available to contribute. I am sure you will get disappointed. Well, with the right plugin, everything falls into place seamlessly. The availability of multiple payment methods helps you accept donations from a wide range of audiences.

A well-designed donation payment form leads more people to contribute to your fundraising campaign. To get higher form submissions, you need a user-friendly form design that people can’t ignore.  Watch out for these must-have fields in a donation payment form to get more contributions:

Style Editor

Have you ever come across a form that looked dull and boring? That’s exactly what happens when you use a form plugin without a style editor. And to give your form an enhanced look, you need advanced customization options. So, make sure that your donation form plugin has all these functionalities available.

Automatic Emails

After you have accepted donations from your donor, you can send a follow-up email thanking them for their contribution. A good donation payment form plugin like Bit Form can help you with it. So, make sure to install the right one for advanced functionalities.

Multiple Payment Gateways

Not getting enough contributions even after setting up a good donation payment form? Well, having limited payment gateways can be one of the reasons. Want to reach a broader audience?

Then, you must install a plugin that supports multiple payment gateways. It allows donors to contribute with their flexible payment method.

Conditional Logic

Think you want to set up multiple payment options in your donation form. Now, when donors choose a certain payment method, that particular payment option will appear. But how to set it up?

You need to use conditional logic to set up this whole process. Without using conditional logic, your donation payment form is incomplete.

Here, you can see a medical cause donation form with the use of conditional logic using the Bit Form plugin:

Tool/CRM Integration

Have you ever heard of a tax-deductible donation form? It provides proof that you contributed to a charity. And it reduces your tax bills. So, are you a charity owner? Then you must keep a track of your donors to provide them with this form. And guess what? A good form plugin makes it easier for you to automate tasks.

With a plugin like Bit Form, you can integrate with 51+ platforms and connect your favourite tools/CRM, such as Google Sheets, MailChimp, ActiveCampaign, and more.

Creating a WordPress donation payment form should not be a tough job. With the right plugin, it’s just a matter of a moment. Here, I am using the Bit Form plugin to create the donation form. Have a look at the step-by-step guide below:

Step 1: Install Bit Form Plugin

At first, go to WordPress dashboard > Plugins. Search for the Bit Form plugin and install and activate it.

Step 2: Click on Create Form

Once you have installed the plugin, go to the Bit Form dashboard > Create Form.

Step 3: Add Image

Now, you have to search the image field in the search bar and drag it to your form. Click on the image field > Background Image > Browse and add your preferred image. Then add the image you want to keep in the form.

Step 4: Add Title

Search for the title field in the search bar. Then, you can customize the title using the HTML tag. Also, you can set font size and font color.

Step 5: Add a Divider

You can also add a divider to the form that brings a more enhanced look to the form.

Step 6: Add Text Field

Now, you can add a text/title field in the form that will work as a section title.

Step 7: Add Other Fields

Here I have divided it into 3 parts. Your information, donation amount, and payment method. Under each part, I have added the following fields.

Your information: First name, last name, email, and phone number.

Donation Amount: Donation amount, donation frequency (Number field), and message.

Payment Method: Choose your payment method. (To add payment fields, you need the Bit Form Pro)

Step 8: Add Payment Methods

Now, you can drag your preferred payment methods here. Whether you want to integrate Stripe or PayPal, you can easily do it with this plugin. Here, I have dragged PayPal and Stripe fields.

Step 9: Conditional Logic for PayPal

Now, set up the conditional logic for PayPal. So, when donors choose PayPal as their payment method, this payment option will appear. The rest of the options will be hidden. So, you can accept PayPal donations on WordPress.

To set up conditional logic for the “Choose Your Payment Method” field in Bit Form on WordPress, go to the conditional logic settings. Set the condition to show the PayPal option only when the “Choose Your Payment Method” field equals PayPal.

In the Then section, set PayPal to Show, and in the Else section, set it to Hide. This ensures that when PayPal is selected, only PayPal is shown, and other payment options are hidden.

Step 10: Conditional Logic for Razorpay

Similarly, set up your conditional logic for RazorPay. If anyone selects Razorpay, other options will be hidden.

Step 11: Conditional Logic for Stripe

Now set up the conditional logic for Stripe.

Step 12: Style The Form

Now, you can design the form using Bit Form’s style editor. With this style editor, you can edit common and individual elements. Here, I have customized the form’s design using both elements.

Step 13: Test The Form
