





BMR stands for Basal Metabolic Rate. It is the number of calories your body needs to maintain basic physiological functions at rest, such as breathing and circulation.
Knowing your BMR helps estimate the calories needed to maintain weight; to lose or gain weight, you adjust calorie intake above or below that baseline.
Age, sex, weight, height, and sometimes body composition affect BMR.
BMR is calories needed at rest; TDEE includes calories burned through daily activities and exercise.
