Setup Partial Entry Features Using Conditional Logic

With the use of this feature, you have the ability to draft form entries according to the specific requirements of your form field’s value. For example, if a user fills in the email field, the form data will be automatically drafted for that entry.

  1. To begin, you will need to either create a new form or utilize an existing one.
  2. Once you have your form ready, navigate to the Settings section and select Conditional Logic.
  3. In the Conditional Logic menu, you can create new rule to dictate the actions that will occur based on certain conditions. Specify the action that you want to run within the Conditional Logic.
  4. To set up the action, you will need to define the following parameters:
    1. Action Run When: Record Create/Edit
    2. Action Effect: Only on Field Input
    3. Action Behaviour: Condition
  5. If the Email is ‘Is Not Null ‘ then the form will be ‘Save Draft
  6. The process is complete. You can now conveniently Draft form entries by entering an email in the designated field.
Setup partial entry features using Conditional logic - Set Condition

If you want to repopulate the drafted data, you must enable the Repopulate form fields with the previous partial entries option from the form Form Abandonment setting.

In the demo video below, I first set up conditional logic, then navigated to Form Abandonment and enabled both “Repopulate form fields with previous partial entry” and “Save draft when the user leaves the form page.” After that, I went to the page where I had embedded the form. When I entered the email, it triggered the condition, and the form was saved as a draft.
